In early 2017, Andrej Ondracka, a researcher at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology, Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, sent a message to John LaCava's "Sounds of Science" project asking if anyone would like to collaborate on a project mixing science and the arts. Bernie Langs, one of the Directors in the Development Department at Rockefeller University in New York City, responded that he would record music to any films that Andrej might have from his research. Bernie believes that classic rock music captures the essence and excitement of cutting edge scientific endeavors. The result is a short music video of the films Andrej took in the past while at Rockefeller with the images Bernie sped up, colorized or animated using Apple's Final Cut Pro video studio. Bernie's recorded version of two songs by the Beatles (and with a nod to a 1968 hit by Chip Taylor) are the backdrop to this film showing yeast cell growth.
