RISC - Polly Maggoo
Festival & Non-profit
Marseille, France
About
Founded in 1993 in Marseille, the Polly Maggoo association aims to create encounters between plural cinemas and a large audience. From 2002, we developed thematic projections around science. The highlight of the RISC festival, offered every year in autumn since 2006, extends the presentation of sciences in their diversity. Regular interventions are also carried out within cultural, social or educational establishments where the association invites researchers and filmmakers.
The RISC festival invites you to discover a program of short, medium and feature films (documentary, fiction, experimental, video art, animation, etc.) from an international selection, and whose theme and/or approach demonstrate a strong proximity ( or affinity) with fields of scientific research (mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology, life sciences, science and technology, epistemology of science, medicine and health, environment, economic and political sciences, history, architecture and urban planning, sociology, anthropology and ethnology, linguistics, educational sciences, etc.), in the presence of filmmakers and researchers invited to come and meet the public after each screening.
