What is a Boojum? The Boojum is a creature that deceives mortals. It shape-shifts across time, space, and beliefs. In the Sonoran Desert: Comcáac, Spanish, English, and botanical scripts collide around a plant that appears to betray any attempt to define it. “There can’t be such a thing!”. Often described as the most noteworthy, out of the ordinary, strangest and even queerest plant on earth, the Boojum becomes a meeting point for collaboration among various scientists, artists, indigenous people, and non-human agents, ultimately providing a rich multidisciplinary and multi-perspective narrative.
