Gaïa is a Super 8 film made in 2002, blending abstract poetry with fragments of everyday life.
Through images marked by traces and bathed in blue, the film explores the presence of my dog, who shared my life during that period. These alterations of the film stock, stains, accidents, textures, become a language in their own right. They interact with the omnipresent blue color, which envelops the images in a melancholic atmosphere, suspended between dream and memory. More than a portrait, Gaïa is a trace that of an instinctive bond, a coexistence shaped by simple gestures and exchanged glances. The grain of Super 8 enhances the film’s intimate and sensory dimension, transforming reality into a sensitive, tactile matter. The title Gaïa refers to the primordial goddess of the Earth, symbolizing origin, life, and the bond between living beings.
Gaïa is a visual meditation on attachment, memory, and the fragility of passing moments.
