Care Full (working title) is going to be a video art piece with a strong narrative element. The theme is the existential risk biotechnology poses for the whole of humanity i.e. extinction of humans.

According to Toby Ord, Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy at Oxford University, the risk of humanity destroying itself within the next hundred years is 1/6. However, mitigating this risk—and other existential risks—poses a different kind of risk in itself; one that might result in deeper and wider securitization than anyone would originally have wished for. I am planning a video installation that combines history, science, politics, and biology in a poetic form.

A suitable visual reference for this new piece is Sergei Parajanov’s 1969 film, “The Color of Pomegranates,” which visually narrates the life of a poet using symbols and visual references rather than literal storytelling.
