“Barely arriving at the level of the plateau, we find ourselves in front of an exceptional rock of Twenty-five meters high on the west side and twenty on the opposite side. It is possibly of a monument to humanity, erected in a very remote time, since in it you can immediately guess human heads of different races. Its sculptors had worked on the natural rock in times so ancient that his memory and the name of his work have been lost" - Daniel Russo. 1952

This film taked place in the sacred ruins of Marcahuasi, located in the province of Huarochirí,  in Lima, Peru. This location is a natural fortress, surrounded by enormous rocks with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic shapes that create a breathtaking and supernatural landscape. There are many legends attempting to explain the origin or existence of Marcahuasi, ranging from battles between pre-Hispanic gods, the architecture of the forgotten Masma culture, to the intervention of beings from the cosmos. My interest is to explore the architecture of these structures and contemplate how these impossible geographies can influence the psyche and spirit of their inhabitants. I’m deeply inspired by the traditional water preservation methods that exists for hundreds of years already in this community. How did it al started and what’s the link with the emotional aspect?
