Designed after his 14th ballon, Brazilian pioneer aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont flew his aircraft 14-bis (Quatorze-bis) over field in Paris in October 1906. The 14-bis , also known as Oiseau de proie ("bird of prey" in French), was a remarkable era canard biplane designed and built by Santos-Dumont. The aircraft made the first powered flight in Paris celebrated by crowds. Dumont who is considered by the Brazilian as the first inventor of the aircraft before the Wright brothers.
