Hayrettin Alan was born in 1986 in Gevaş, Van. Between 2010 and 2016, he worked as a reporter for Hayatın Sesi TV and Evrensel Newspaper in Van. He produced the documentary Geç Gelen Bahar (2015), the story of a refugee woman. He directed and produced the documentary Köpekçi (2021). Hayrettin Alan is a board member of Ortakça Association, which carries out rights-based activities through culture and arts in Van.
