Carolyn Bailey is a writer and final year PhD candidate in Film and Visual Studies at Harvard University. Her doctoral research has been supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. She has taught in the Program in Women’s and Gender Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her scholarship has been published in Thresholds (MIT Press, 2019), and her critical writing in New York Review of Architecture, of which she is a former editor. She recently co-curated the exhibition Surveillance: From Vision to Data at the Harvard University Collection of Scientific Instruments.
