The University of Connecticut, founded in 1881, is a public, comprehensive university. It is recognized for its excellent academic programs and internationally acclaimed faculty. In addition to an extensive variety of top-quality academic programs offered at the undergraduate level, UConn is the only public university in New England with a School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine and School of Law.
