About

I have been Executive Director of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Library & Archives since 1999. I am a leader in the promotion of digital research libraries and open access. The internationally recognized CSHL Archives consists of collections of rare books in genetics and the collections of original materials of prominent scientists, which provide deep insight into the history of molecular biology and genetics. IN 2012 the CSHL Archives was chosen as the only institution outside the UK to contribute to the Wellcome Trust major project, Codebreakers: Makers of Modern Genetics. I am the founder of the History of Science series of annual international meetings at CSHL, each of which is focused on the origins and development of a specific field in genetics and biotechnology (http://library.cshl.edu/Meetings/History-of-Science/) . I also curate scientific exhibitions and am a PI for many grant projects in history of science and library fields.
