Victor's Command, The Yamato on Patrol in Central Park explores the passion of lifelong model maker Victor Cotte. Victor's main effort over the last forty years has been work on his beloved Yamato. In making this film I have tried to underscore his unparalleled love for this boat. We hear dramatic music that might not be out of place in a Michael Mann movie. We see 3D graphics sequences that might be at home in Metal Gear Solid or Evangelion.
This bold treatment helps us feel as excited as Victor does about his decades long bond with his exceptional boat. Victor derives satisfaction in life from his unique bond with the Yamato. In exploring Victor's passion the film asks, what do you do to derive meaning from all of this chaos?
