To find the truth in the crumbling walls of a former Gestapo prison, record it… and let it out. This is what the film Prison of History attempts to do through interviews not only with witnesses, creators and artists, but also with representatives of generations who walked by unnoticed. In more than 130 years of its history, the building in Uherské Hradiště experienced several regimes, few of which were happy for it (and the people associated with it). In the documentary, it becomes a living museum of stories that should have been forgotten, and every visitor is a guide in it. It is thanks to the fusion of opinions and experiences of different groups of people that an image is created not only of a specific place and time, but of us as such. The observational mode connects testimonies and poetic passages that capture not only the facts, but also the burdensome atmosphere of the place.
