The life and flying characteristics of the largest flying bird in the world, the Andean condor, are explored through the research of ornithologist Lorenzo Sympson and paraglider pilot Martin Vallmitjana. Set in Argentine Patagonia, land of incredible contrasts, the film shows the condor in its various habitats, from the foothills of the Andes to the desert, glaciers, volcanoes and the highest mountain peaks, to find the keys to the secrets of the condor’s flight. Which air currents do they use to reach their heights? Why do they find their food in the desert? Why do they fly in flocks? In the mountains violent storms, giddy heights and freezing temperatures make flying a permanent challenge and that is where the condor shows its mastery, gliding through the air in the most extreme conditions
