Once again, Maclean’s work seems to predict the future. Though made in 2012, the film speaks to the tensions between England and Scotland, which have only escalated since the 2016 Brexit referendum. The lion (the symbol of England on the Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom), the unicorn (the symbol of Scotland) and the queen dance the same dance that they have for centuries.
