A digest of elements from Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871), with Delphine Seyrig playing one of the novel’s most memorable characters: the White Queen. Befitting the tale’s many chess metaphors, de Kermadec elected to use a luscious black and white image for her sophomore short. A most exquisite and sensual example of feminist filmmaking.
