What do the ways in which a relationship with nature is cultivated in young people tell us about the society and lifestyle of past times? This is the question that led us to compile a band of short films from 1938-1969.
Children and Nature (dir. Oldřich Mirad, 1953) About the work of kindergarten teachers and the importance of leading children to observe nature. Heroes in nature (dir. Jan Svoboda, 1938) About the skills of scout groups developed in nature. Life in the Forest (dir. Václav Jan Staněk, 1949) About life in the forest and its inhabitants, from naughty leaves to a mysterious microcosm. Kidnapping (dir. Milada Cmíralová, late 1940s) Family drama of a father, preoccupied with writing a screenplay, and his son, who in the meantime goes on an adventure through the forest. Medicinal Plants (dir. Jindřich Ferenc, 1950) About children who collect medicinal herbs and thereby contribute to the prosperity of the national economy. Maybe it's that time (dir. Pavel Brezina, 1969) Documentary about a summer camp and outdoor training, filmed in cooperation with the organization Zálesák.
