‘Las Distancias’ is a documentary that explores the before and after in the life of a rural community that is given internet access. How does life change after the internet? The film explores the answer to this question by closely following some of the members of the community, registering their personal relationships, their relationship to work, to time, to distances. 

‘Las Distancias’ is the result of extended research and close collaboration between a filmmaker and a group of anthropological scientists. It is not an attempt to make a positive or negative statement about the use of the internet but to observe and shed light on this contradictory matter and generate constructive discussion.
