The needle touches down on the gramophone, and the sound of a melancholic trumpet fills the air. On screen, family photos from the 1930s appear. A woman's laughter blends with the trumpet's melody, followed by the laughter of those who have nothing left to lose... All the photos were taken by my grandfather, who destroyed them at the end of the war. With the negatives recently discovered, I created this film using a gramophone record from my grandfather's collection.
