Following Baudelaire’s verse, “The shape of a city changes faster, alas, than the heart of a mortal,” this film explores the transformations affecting Paris’s 19th arrondissement and the resulting gentrification. The director, a comedic and burlesque figure reminiscent of Tati, encounters actors or observers of this situation and wanders through what remains of its bohemian spirit.
