Martial arts champion Osvald (33) accidentally injures a girl and is expelled from the sports federation. Unable to travel to Asia for tournaments, he is stuck in his desolate East European hometown, tormented by guilt. Osvald spends his days in a cheap China Sea restaurant owned by his only friend, Ju-Long. In a crime-ridden town, Osvald seeks a new life. Convincing his former mentor to give him a chance, Osvald becomes a teenage martial arts coach and excels. At court-ordered therapy, he meets and falls in love with Skaiste. But as Osvald embraces a better life, his past catches up with him, leading him to resort to violence again.
