Mirene and André, and Carl and Vicente, are two couples in their thirties. While Mirene and André struggle with their infertility, Vicente decides to undergo an experimental technique, implanting an ovary in his body in the hope of having a child with Carl. A marital drama with speculative overtones, “Becoming a Man in the Middle Ages” is an intimate story about queer sexuality, autonomy, reproductive desires and the ghosts of normativity.
