Athena is a headset (Apple Vision Pro, Oculus) augmented reality experience that immerses viewers in the simulated umwelt of a few cephalopods alongside a voice-over that contemplates their perspective on existential themes of meaning, purpose, well-being, and the environment. This experience augments and defamiliarizes our everyday human perception in hopes of expanding our fixed perspective with imagined insights from the great blue underworld beyond.
