In Chile, "Sacrifice Zones" have been identified as different areas and territories where productive and/or extractive activities take place. These activities, due to their magnitude and intensity, have undermined or threaten to destroy the balances of the natural and human environment, as well as the cultural history or the possibility thereof.
"A Mutual Country" is a documentary series that proposes the exploration of 8 sacrifice zones in Chile, areas affected by the colonization of external agents that cause negative impacts on the environment and the communities near development centers. The series initiates a dialogue between local communities, individual biographies, and the rich biological and cultural heritage of the country, through a journey that encompasses different endangered ecosystems.
In each episode, we will explore different forms of mutualism, showcasing relationships between aquatic, terrestrial, mixed, and artificial ecosystems with characters and stories that share the idea of a shared destiny and development in nature and its life interactions. We will also learn that mutualism is a type of relationship between species in which two or more individuals involved benefit mutually through a bond that does not harm any of them. We will explain that mutualistic relationships are crucial in ecological dynamics of the environment, especially in increasing biodiversity and maximizing the use of available natural resources.e.com/admin/films/update/66326553f3f4b90015770a96
