“A Body in Fukushima” is a film created by dance artist Eiko Otake consisting of still photographs, inter-titles, and an original score. Photographs are selected from tens of thousands taken by historian/photographer William Johnston of Otake alone in the irradiated landscapes of post-nuclear meltdown Fukushima, Japan. Throughout their five visits from 2014 to 2019, Otake danced in dialogue with a changed Fukushima. Otake wrote the text and edited the film as well as sound, which includes original music and sound by Kronos Quartet’s David Harrington.
