In 1961, the interactive exhibit Mathematica: A World of Numbers… and Beyond opened the new science wing of the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles. Sponsored by IBM, it was a groundbreaking exhibit designed by husband and wife team Charles and Ray Eames that included five short animations that explored a handful of mathematical concepts.
